RYZEN 7 H 255 CPU
The Ryzen 7 H 255 is a chip from the Hawk Point family and is an upgraded version of the older Ryzen 7 8745H and has 8 cores (16 threads thanks to SMT support) that run at up to 4.9 GHz, together with the powerful Radeon 780M iGPU. Unlike Zen 3, Zen 4 offers AVX512 support along with other improvements such as larger caches/registers/buffers across the board.

Delivery from Spain was very fast. The item has had a rough journey. Fortunately, the packaging offers enough protection. The item was barebone and I equipped it with one 32GB DDR5 5600Mhz module from Crucial and two SSDs from Crucial. What stands out is that the device is easy to set up. No complicated configurations. Processor performance is similar to a 7735hs (other minipc owned) and temperatures are lower (max. 73c on cpu and 39c on ram) since this one uses a better cooling system due to an increased dimensions which allows a bigger secondary fan. I cannot test 3d performance but it would be the one expected for a 780m igpu being greater compared to the 680m on the 7735hs.
Installed windows 11 ltsc iot without issues and all drivers have been downloaded using sdio (snappy driver installer origin) through an ethernet connection, then the wifi and bluetooth devices are properly recognised.

An HDMI cable and the power adapter are included.
The assembly is very simple. only the cable from the RAM + NVME cover is a bit short.

Overall happy. Shipping was fast to germany. The computer is a good size, if a bit bigger than other mini pcs. Performance is good. Gaming isn’t a problem with 32gb ram if you stick to somewhat older titles. For example i’m enjoying ratchet and clank and tomb raider at the moment which work without issue. Fan noise is acceptable if you run the balanced power mode and manually turn down the 80mm fan to 60% or below. Out of the box it was a bit too loud while gaming. Wifi and bluetooth performance is very poor compared to other machines. Bluetooth range is only maybe 3-4m and wifi about the same. I have plugged it into ethernet. Overall i’m happy at a price of 260 euros for the bare bones version. I don’t think i’d be happy if it was over 300 euros especially since ram is currently very expensive.
